The Third Eye

In Blog, Hustle Podcast by Eric ByrnesLeave a Comment

Was cruising through BeAGreatTeacher.com the other day and came across the fun fact of the day…

“Iguanas have three eyes. Two normal eyes and a third eye on top of their head that only perceives brightness.”

Fascinating…

Iguanas are native to Central and South America and have survived the arduous journey to today’s world by adapting and adjusting to the brightness of their current environment…

They can see the world as it is through the two normal eyes and actually have such good vision they can even see ultraviolet rays which allows them to optimize their UVA & UVB consumption.

This 3rd eye cannot form images but it recognizes light & dark, and its ability to detect movement protects it from any predators hovering above.

We as human beings obviously don’t have a 3rd eye but as we accumulate experiences in our life, we do have the ability to form 3rd eye instincts…

When we are able to perceive the brightness of the world around us, we ourselves can then adapt and adjust to all of life’s offerings… Yet the only way we will ever be able to really tap into this instinct is by making the endless trek through the rain forest of life.
