We all have a ton of shit going on in our lives… I get it.

We oftentimes feel overwhelmed with everything on our plate, and before we know it, we are riding a screaming, runaway bobsled about to fly off the track…

The common phrase used is that “life comes at us fast.”

We are also told, “that’s just life.” 🤷‍♂️

Bullshit.

Life speeds up when we lose awareness of the present moment…

We become so inundated with the past or the uncertainty of the future that we literally lose touch of the HERE and the NOW…

“Ok spiritual savage Byrnes, how do I slow it down? You haven’t seen my daily planner for the next month. It looks like the War & Peace novel.”

Simple… It’s called the 5,4,3,2,1 Method that I learned a few weeks ago from the fantastic Daily Calm Meditation app.

 

Pick 5 things you can see right now:

Door, flowers, book, moose, fire place…

 

Pick 4 things you can touch/feel:

Cloths, couch, vase, water…

 

Pick 3 things you can hear:

Snow blowers, dog snoring, woodpecker pecking…

 

Pick 2 things you can smell:

Flower, fire…

 

Pick 1 thing you can taste:

Coffee…
