ALL IN

This is a f*cking WILD world that we live in…

Everyday, there are atrocities that happen across the globe that many would argue demand our attention.

The political landscape in the United States is as polarizing as I’ve seen in my lifetime and every Trump supporter or Trump detractor insists we choose one side or the other while passionately defending their position… Well, only if it lines up with theirs of course…

As much as this may pain some Daily Hustle subscribers. I don’t watch Game of Thrones and video games are banned in my house so Fortnite discussion groups won’t be happening here… I follow the NFL because of a fantasy league that I play in but the only reason I am in the league is because it’s a way to stay connected to 10 dudes I played baseball with at UCLA…

The NBA is cool, and considering the Warriors were the laughing stock for so many years, the creation of the Golden State dynasty has been an inspirational revelation to watch… That said, I don’t really start paying attention til the playoffs…

I’ve followed the NHL more than usual the past couple years because MLB Network and NHL Network share a building together, so it’s nice to have a little bit of knowledge so I can shoot the shit with Kevin Weekes or Brian Lawton if we happen to be sitting next to each other in the make up chairs…

I follow the news just in case World War III happens to break out and North Korea or Iran decide to send a nuke this way, but I invest little time in the daily drama that has no quit…

I get up in the morning, meditate, read my Daily Devotional, Daily Stoic & Daily Hustle, then go over all baseball news and box scores from the night before… After helping get the kids off on their day, I simultaneously exercise and SLAUGHTER podcasts and audiobooks that I feel will provide beneficial educational information that potentially will be applicable in my life… I obviously spend A LOT of time writing, working and podcasting, and love just about every mentally stimulating minute of it… The Let Them Play Foundation has given us a platform to champion youth activity and that has consumed much of our time and energy over the past year, and trust me when I say I am very GRATEFUL for that… I also like to invest time maintaining and building mutually beneficial relationships with like-minded people who typically have an infectious positive vibe and energy that helps fuel the ride of life we all happen to be on…

No two days are the same and I do my best to live a life predicated on education and experience.  Yet, in order to efficiently and effectively live our lives, we can’t over indulge in the never ending drama of our world… There are only so many things that we have the energy to passionately care about… So forgive me for keeping my family, health, friends, job, Daily Hustle and Let Them Play Foundation at the top of the list…

Ultimately, I am not telling you what to care about… If you want to get emotionally riled up with every stock market swing, perceived social injustice or Kim Jong-un threat, that’s ok because that is what you decided to care about…

The bottom line is that regardless of what it is, we would all be a lot better off by picking the things that really matter to us and then go ALL IN.
