We all will go through different phases in our life when we will be presented with new opportunities…
On the surface, the good thing is that ultimately it is up to us to figure out whether or not we want to pursue them… Yet the more I explore the natural human psyche, the more I am starting to question whether us having this autonomy is actually allowing us to make the best and most impactful decisions.
The problem is that we as human beings are incredibly resistant to change…
Too often we become so attached to our current environment that we fail to make the decision that will enable us to take advantage of positive life altering scenarios… In turn, we never reach our potential and our lasting impact on the current and future world is grossly suppressed because we simply just can’t let go. 🤦♂️
So… How do we counteract our natural resistance?
As much as I believe in developing long lasting commitments and relationships with things and people that we love, it is imperative that we are able to continually make sure we are challenging ourselves in ways that will force us to step outside of our comfort zone…
It is also critical that the same people and things that we love understand our mission and support change, which although can be terrifying, just so happens to be one the most beautiful and exciting parts of life.
