Was listening to Lin Manuel Miranda’s interview on Ellen just recently and he was asked if he thought Hamilton would turn out to be as successful as it was…
“All we can do is do our part.”
Lin Manuel went on to explain that only 1 in 5 shows on Broadway make money, and that so often, we can produce an incredible product but its success is completely outside of our control.
As we charge forward during this beta testing period of No Filter Network, it’s a humbling reminder that whether or not our new live streaming ultimate interactive experience platform is successful isn’t necessarily up to us…
Sure, we can do everything in our power to put ourselves and the platform in position to succeed, but there are so many outside variables that we have absolutely no control of that may play into the ultimate impact No Filter will or will not have.
Knowing this can be incredibly scary but it can also be incredibly LIBERATING!!!
When we understand that overall results are often dependent on outside factors, we can quit worrying about the bullshit and put all of our time, energy and effort on the only thing we can control…
DOING OUR PART.
Ironically, at the end of Hamilton there is a song that brings light to the idea of just doing our part because at the end of the day and at the end of our lives, that’s all we can do and no matter what, we don’t have the final say…
“Let me tell you what I wish I’d known
When I was young and dreamed of glory
You have no control
Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?”
We definitely don’t have control over who tells our story, but so long as we are here we get to LIVE IT & write it every fucking day. 👊
P.S. Have you hopped on a Team GoHard Foot Reflexology Board yet?
