My Mom used to always tell me when I was a kid:
“Show me who your friends are and I will show you who you are.”
“You are the company you keep.”
I always thought that was unfair for her to try to judge me through the actions of others…
But damn, she was RIGHT.
Of course you are not your friends, and ultimately, you do not control their actions, but there is no doubt that if you surround yourself with people who share similar hobbies and lifestyle choices, you will steadily morph into sharing many of their same traits…
Once again, we like being comfortable so many of our friendships are based on the fact that we are comfortable around the other person. This comfort often forces us to overlook many of the other person’s shortcomings, and of course, the more time we spend around that person the more likely that their faults become our faults…
Human Crash Test Dummy Solution:
Cut bait. We don’t need that fish in our life. We only have a certain amount of time and energy, and in order to optimize both, we need to spend our time and energy surrounding ourselves with people who are going to help facilitate and promote a kick-ass lifestyle predicated on a commitment to grow on a daily basis.
Team Go Hard Task:
Eliminate 3 people from your life right now. They don’t have to be dead to you but consider them exiled to the island of Krypton…
And oh yea, you are f*cking Superman.
