As a good part of the world celebrates Jesus’ birthday tonight and tomorrow, let’s take a moment to reflect upon the man that, amongst other things, easily could be heralded as the most influential person in history…
Regardless of our spiritual or religious beliefs, there is no denying that Jesus lived a life dedicated to serving all of mankind with the simple idea of making the world a better place.
Despite our many flaws, Jesus preached love, acceptance and the idea of an eternal hope created by an unwavering belief system.
He talked about how we need to love our neighbor and enemies just as we should love ourselves and how we must be able to forgive and refrain from any sort of hate at all costs.
In the unimaginable, Jesus even went so far to forgive the very men that crucified him…
Sure, in theory Jesus left a terrific blueprint for how to live our lives, but the truth of the matter is that we are over emotional creatures that have had a very difficult time following Jesus’ lead.
Forgiving anybody who has ever really hurt us can be damn near impossible, and oftentimes, it seems like hate and redemption just so happen to be ingrained in our DNA…
Just ask Giants & Dodgers fans. 🤷♂️
The concept of loving our enemy is damn near inconceivable, and I’m pretty sure if a group of f*ck heads nailed me up to a cross and repeatedly whipped my ass and spit on me, words of forgiveness would not be what would come out of my mouth…
As far as loving our neighbor is concerned, that’s cool and we usually are pretty good at that, but what about when our neighbor happens to be an asshole… Then what?
Look, I have no desire to turn the #DailyHustle into any sort of religious platform, but there is a reason that over 2000 years after the birth of Jesus Christ a gigantic portion of the world still happens to be celebrating this dude’s birthday…
Put simply, Jesus was a better person than us and let his actions reflect his commitment to all of mankind…
Jesus lived his life championing love and forgiveness while maintaining a complete and total dedication to serving others while remaining free of condemnation and judgement.
Don’t know a ton about religion and I oftentimes struggle in my own spiritual journey, but one thing I am pretty sure of is that the world would be a lot better place if we all figured out a way to live a little bit more like or dude Jesus did…
Happy B Day Jesus 👊
