It’s our choice…

Every single day, we have choices to make from the time we roll out of the rack to the time we call it a night at the end of the day…

Most of these choices might seem inconsequential in the short term, but over time they are decisions that ultimately have an incredible impact on our lives… One way or another.

I can’t speak for you or your daily routine, but in my life, there are certain small choices that I try to make each day that will give me the best opportunity for family and professional success.

  1. Wake & Thank – Each morning I wake up, I use the first half hour knocking out a grounding, foot reflexology and meditation session which are all part of a morning routine predicated on recognizing all things I am extremely grateful for in my life… These may seem petty and small to most, but the few times I have broken the ritual, the entire day seems like it is in fast forward.
  2. Just DO SOMETHING – As a somewhat experienced ultra endurance adventure athlete, I will say that just doing is the f*cking key to exercise. We so often try to hold ourselves to unrealistic goals then quit and give up everything when we realize it’s not attainable. Make the CHOICE each day to run at least 1 mile, go on a short hike or hit that spin/yoga class. We don’t need to knock out crazy long rides, runs or swims to get our juices FLOWING… Just DO SOMETHING.
  3. Compliment a Stranger – We don’t need to be Mother Teresa but make the choice to spread love each and every single day. Dude showed up at the coffee shop today with a sick ass bamboo bicycle… It obviously was an easy target to shower with admiration, but we will have several of these opportunities throughout the entire day. Do you like her shirt, his hat or the dogs silky shiny slick coat? Let them know!!! Pups need love to you know…

These small choices we make each day will slow down our lives, help bring us into the moment, and actively lead us to achieving BIG results.

We also have opportunities to make choices that will send us into a never ending, vicious tailspin cycle of ego, laziness and selfishness…

Good thing though, it’s our choice.
