Is This Making the Team Better 🤷‍♂️

For whatever reason lately, I have seen HORRIFIC instruction from people in authoritative positions that has been detrimental to the overall progression of the enterprise and/or team…

I understand that rules and structure need to be in place and part of being a good worker and/or teammate is following those rules and playing within the structure…

Yet, part of being a great authoritative figure and/or coach is knowing your individual personnel and figuring out how to use that person’s strengths in ways to best benefit the entire SQUAD.

“But Byrnes, the best teams and the best businesses are greater than the sum of their parts… You talk about that shit all the time in the Daily Hustle…”

Of course I do Gary GO HARD and that is 100% TRUTH… We are ALL replaceable…

Just ask the New England Patriots, Alabama Crimson Tide and Golden State Warriors…

Possibly the 3 greatest MACHINE OPERATION DYNASTIES I’ve seen in my lifetime, and for the most part, they deal with mass turnover on a yearly basis yet still find ways to win with their CORE CULTURE…

How?

Of course, you can point to Brady, Belichik, Saban, Steph, Klay, Durant & Draymond, but these are the dudes that are responsible for figuring out how to best put the other individuals on their team in a position to succeed.

That’s exactly why Randy Moss had one of the greatest seasons in the history of the NFL while with the Pats in ‘07…

That’s exactly why Wes Welker & Julian Edelman, a couple 5 foot nuttin white dudes, became premier wide receivers despite their diminutive size & questionable speed…

That’s why Alabama is in the National Championship game every single year despite losing seemingly half their coaching staff & players every year…

That’s why Steve Kerr’s Golden State Warriors have been so gosh damn dominant year in & year out…

These mother f*ckers (I call them that as a term of endearment) know what it takes to bring out the absolute best of almost everybody involved with the entire organization.

This isn’t fucking bio mechanical molecular engineering, this is recognizing talent and then playing off the strengths of the various individual talents… Novel f*cking concept isn’t it. 🤷‍♂️

So why is this so rare?

Many leaders like to feed their ego by implementing their uniformed authoritative power, and the truth of the matter is, they aren’t doing this for the betterment of the individual or the team… They are doing this because they are insecure narcissist that need to attempt to validate their own self worth, which of course leads them & the team into an absolute tailspin until they ultimately hit rock bottom and find the team in the tank & themselves out of a job wondering how they, the almighty omnipotent ones, possibly f*cked this up. 🤷‍♂️

If they are lucky, they finally realize the egotistical dumb ass that puked all over themselves and the organization was actually them. 🤔

As much as they tried to believe they had the best interest of others in mind, they come to grips with the fact that the crock of stew they thought they were stirring actually was a gigantic pot of arrogant shit.

So next time you GO HARDS start digging yourselves by implementing your IRON FIST, you may want to realize there is a decent chance you may be digging your grave as well…

At the end of the day, make sure to ask yourselves one simple question:

Is this making the individual better? Because if it’s not, it sure as flying f*ck fire balls ain’t making the team better…
