Just finished watching the Back To The Future trilogy with the kids, and much like E.T. it was just as fantastic of an experience as when I watched it for the first time…
At the end of the 3rd and final one, Doc (Christopher Lloyd) is on the ELB Express with his family saying his farewells to Marty Mcfly (Michael J Fox) and his girlfriend.
After a series of wild epic adventures bouncing between 1885, 1955 and 2015, they found themselves back in 1985 and the original Delorian time machine had just destroyed into a million pieces…
So here they were, no past to go back to and no future to either fantasize or fret about, only the exact present moment in time to try to make sense of it all and pull an underlying moral from the “Back To The Future” stories…
This is how Doc so brilliantly summed it up:
“Your future hasn’t been written yet, no one’s has,
your future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one!”
So often we let the happenings of the past and anxiety filled anticipation of the future determine our present reality… Yet, like Doc said, our future hasn’t been written and very simply, it is what we decide we are going to make of it, so we might as well make it a gosh damn good one!
Ultimately, our future is constantly being created RIGHT NOW by the choices we make and the attitude and actions we decide to take…
Let’s make sure to choose & act wisely, our future depends on it. 🚀
