Had an incredible opportunity to talk to somebody that works very closely with Mark Zuckerberg…
After avoiding asking the question for awhile, I finally couldn’t help myself:
“What the Zuck? I mean what’s Zuck like?”
Without quoting my boy for fear of butchering the off the cuff, beautiful analytical depiction of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time, here is a core 4 list of nuggets I got out of the convo:
- Compete – Apparently Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most competitive people of all time. The comparison my buddy made was a mutual friend we have in common… Lance Armstrong.
- Strategically plan for the future – He is always thinking several moves ahead… Instead of “If we do this then they will do that,” apparently Zuck thinks, “If we do this then they will do that then this other group will do something else which will prompt us to counter and reposition with something completely off the grid that nobody has any idea is coming at them but is undoubtedly going to change the f*ing world!” 😅
- Psych Out – Zuck has been said to delve into psychology on a variety of different levels and for good reason… Understanding people is the key to life as well as the key to business and I imagine dialing in the proper algorithms… Knowing how people typically behave and react in various environments will allow us to give people what they want, whether they actually realize it or not.
- Surround yourself with the right people – Zuckerberg has a history of relationships with incredibly intelligent world influencers… Sure it’s easy to surround yourself with those types of people when you are worth 88.2 billion dollars and the 4th richest person in the world, but this is something he seemingly has always tried to do and has done very well…
Look, we aren’t all going to create world altering businesses nor will we all be billionaires, yet each and every one of us has the ability to apply the above core 4 attributes to our own lives…
In other words, it really doesn’t matter who you are, ZUCK IT UP 👊
